The Milky Way from the Namib, the oldest Desert on Earth.
My 1st macro photo with over 500 000 views on Flickr: “Blow flies pollinating a Stapelia grandiflora flower” from Calitzdorp in the Little Karoo, Western Cape, South Africa.
The flies are being tricked by the flower, and their maggot eggs won’t survive as the flower will die soon (and the flower is not really a suitable host or food for the maggots).
My latest Nature Photography Book project just went live.
An ebook sample of the book by Martin Heigan. “This book features photographs of the vast landscapes, masses of wild flowers and unworldly flora of Namaqualand and the Richtersveld. This semi-desert region in the Northern Cape of South Africa, is known for it’s spectacular unspoilt nature”.
My book on “Namaqualand and the Richtersveld” in South Africa, is now on the Apple iBookstore.
